Hello, classmates! After graduation from CHS, I went to Dixie College, then to the U of U, graduating in English/Spanish and Secondary Education. I’ve lived in Mexico, New Jersey, North Carolina, Alaska, and Maryland (and more!). I landed (to stay) in Twin Falls, Idaho, where we enjoy skiing, kayaking, boating, and hiking our beautiful Snake River canyon. I earned my M.Ed. at Boise State University (I’m a Ute and a Bronco, making me a “Brute”), and love my career as an Instructional Coach, offering professional development and classroom feedback to high school teachers. I met and married my dear Shawn eight years ago. We have eight kids, six grown and two great teenagers left at home. I have so much gratitude for many opportunities to learn and love.
When I think back on friends at Cyprus High School, and learn of the things you are up to, I am so proud of us! In my work in a higher-poverty high school today, I’m aware of the odds facing our less privileged students. I see the faces of us in students I see every day. I see the lives you live now: business owners, mothers, counselors, teachers, fathers, doctors, corporate managers, attorneys, school administrators, and grandparents. From humble beginnings we are making a difference in this world. With admiration and respect, I say, “Onward, you mighty Pirates.”
